Dr. Srividya Ramasubramanian

Srividya Ramasubramanian is the Newhouse Professor and Endowed Chair at Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications. She previously served as a Presidential Impact Fellow and Professor at Texas A&M University, where she founded the Difficult Dialogues Project and CODE^SHIFT (Collaboratory for Data Equity, Social Healing, Inclusive Futures, and Transformation).
Her research focuses on media effects, data justice, intersectionality, and digital cultures. She is the co-founder of Media Rise, a nonprofit promoting meaningful media for social change. A leading scholar in communication and social justice, she has published extensively on media representations, diversity, and civic engagement.
Dr. Srividya Ramasubramanian has received multiple accolades for her contributions, including awards for excellence in research, teaching, and community engagement. She holds a Ph.D. in mass communication from Pennsylvania State University.
